Give us a smile: Paris Hilton cut a glum figure as she celebrated New Year's Eve in a Mexico nightclub with boyfriend Cy Waits
Taking to Twitter, Paris told her fans about her 'fun' but 'mellow' New Year.
'Just getting ready for bed. Had a mellow, but fun New Year's Eve. Hope everyone had a great night! HAPPY NEW YEARS! Love Paris xoxo.'
In an earlier posting she complained about losing her phone on Thursday night, writing: 'Sucks not having a phone on New Year's Eve. :( So since I can't text anyone. Just wanted to Twitter to you all HAPPY NEW YEARS! Love Paris.'

Curvy: The hotel heiress chats to a reveller at the event and wore a white, sequinned minidress
And reassuring her friends she was not ignoring them, she explained: 'Friends - In case you texted me and I didn't answer, it's not cause I'm ignoring you. It's cause I lost my phone last night. So brutal. :('
However, when her younger sister Nicky, 27, turned up to the party, the socialite did manage to muster a smile.
Paris donned a short white dress with sequins, teamed with a Happy New Year feathered headband.
Meanwhile Nicky poured her figure into an asymmetrical black and white dress.
Twitter: She tweeted to say that she had a 'fun' but 'mellow' New Year and also complained that it 'sucks' not being able to text her friends after losing her phone
That's better: But she appeared to cheer up once her sister Nicky arrived with both of the siblings wearing matching Happy New Year feathered headbands
Perhaps Paris's legal battle with Hairtech International - a brand of extensions she was contracted to endorse - was also weighing heavy on her mind.
TMZ reports that Hairtech International recently adjusted its lawsuit to the amount of $70 million instead of the original $35 million in profit compensation.
The company claims that Paris did not live up to her end of the bargain in promoting and wearing the hair extensions, costing them millions in lost profit.
She allegedly even wore a different company’s hair extensions when she had agreed to promote Hairtech’s merchandise.
