Elizabeth Taylor, one of the best known actresses of Hollywood's 'Golden Age', is also known for her love of fashion, fragrances and jewellery. She wore this white silk cocktail dress in the iconic film Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' (1958), in which she plays the sultry and witty 'Maggie the Cat'. The dress was created by costume designer Helen Rose (who noteably also designed Grace Kelly's real-life wedding dress for her marriage to Prince Rainier) and is a gorgeous example of late 50s style as the low neckline and cinched waist are designed to flatter whilst also being just a little daring.
